How to Find Your Lost Adobe Acrobat Serial Number?
- Download and install the Product Key Finder program on your computer.
- Start the program, and then click the Start Recovery button, it will bring up a drop-down menu that provides three recovery mode: From current system, From non-booting system and From remote computer.
- Select the From current system mode from the drop-down menu. This program will scan both your Windows registry and Adobe folders on your computer, quickly locate Adobe Acrobat serial numbers, along with product keys of Windows, Office and other applications.
- Now click the Save To File button. It allows you to save your Adobe Acrobat serial numbers into a text file for safe keeping.

Some customers may need to replace an expiring serial number with a non-expiring serial number or may need to remove a volume serial number to migrate to Named User Licensing.
To do either of these, you must create a new license package.
- Start Creative Cloud Packager and choose your account type.
- Enter your ID and password, and then click Sign In.
- In the main menu screen, click Create License Package.
- To save the package, enter a name and a location. Click Build.Education customers only:
- Select an Organization. This option only displays if your account is tied to multiple organizations.
- Select Device License as the License Type.
- Select a Deployment Pool.
- Enterprise customers only: Enter the enterprise license key, and click Build.
- The summary screen displays if the package was created successfully. Click the package name open the folder.Click Build Log to open the log file created while building the package. If there is a failure, use the log file AdobeSerialization.log to troubleshoot the issues.Locate AdobeSerialization.log at:
- Mac: ~/Library/Logs/
- Win: C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalTemp
The package is created at the specified location and contains four files:
- AdobeSerialization
- helper.bin
- prov.xml
- RemoveVolumeSerial
To license the software, run AdobeSerialization executable with admin privileges in the command line (for Windows) or the terminal (for MAC). Ensure that all files are present when you run the executable file.
Windows
- Press the Start button on your keyboard and type Command.
- With Command Prompt selected, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter on your keyboard.
- If the User Account Control dialog displays, click Yes.
- Go to the folder where you have saved the AdobeSerialization.exe file.
- Drag-and-drop the AdobeSerialization.exe file onto the Command prompt.See the following example:
MAC OS
- On your computer, go to the Applications folder and then go to the Utilities folder.
- Go to the folder where you have saved the AdobeSerialization file.
- Type sudo and then drag-and-drop the AdobeSerialization file onto the terminal.See the following example:
- If you are prompted, enter the adminstrator password and press Enter.
Remove volume serial (Enterprise and EEA customers only)
Enterprise and EEA customers can run RemoveVolumeSerial executable with admin privileges in the command line (for Windows) or the terminal (for MAC) to remove enterprise license of previously licensed apps (before applying the newer license).
